Crime involving dishonesty, fraud, or violence. Examples: theft, fraud, rape, assault. Not traffic violations or simple drug possession (sometimes).

Effect on Citizenship

Conviction for crime of moral turpitude within 5 years = citizenship denied. Older convictions considered on case-by-case basis.
